Role Overview
We are seeking a Data Governance Manager to lead data governance efforts, ensuring data quality, privacy, and compliance across Reality AI Lab’s open-source projects. This role involves developing data governance policies, overseeing data integrity, and establishing protocols to manage data access and usage. This position is ideal for someone experienced in data governance, data management, or compliance, who is passionate about creating frameworks for responsible data use in open-source AI systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Governance Policy Development: Design and implement data governance frameworks that define data access, usage, and quality standards, ensuring alignment with Reality AI Lab's open-source values.
- Data Privacy and Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy regulations, such as GDPR and COPPA, implementing protocols to protect user and contributor data within the AI ecosystem.
- Data Quality and Integrity Management: Establish data quality metrics and processes to validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency, ensuring that AI tools rely on high-integrity data.
- Access Control and Data Security: Define and enforce data access policies, ensuring that sensitive data is accessed responsibly and securely, with minimal risk of misuse.
- Collaboration with Technical Teams: Work closely with developers and data scientists to ensure data governance policies are integrated within data pipelines and AI models, maintaining quality and compliance.
- Documentation and Transparency: Maintain thorough documentation of data governance protocols and practices, and communicate policies to the community, ensuring transparency in data usage and privacy standards.
Requirements
- Experience in Data Governance or Data Management: Background in data governance, data quality management, or compliance, ideally with experience in AI or technology-driven environments.
- Knowledge of Data Privacy Regulations: Familiarity with privacy standards such as GDPR, COPPA, or FERPA, with the ability to implement policies that ensure data compliance and protection.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Skilled in data analysis, quality assessment, and establishing data integrity controls to maintain high data standards.
- Strong Communication and Policy Documentation: Proficient in creating clear data governance policies and communicating guidelines effectively within the open-source community.
- Understanding of Open-Source Dynamics: Familiarity with open-source values and data governance challenges unique to open-source environments, with a commitment to responsible data stewardship.
