Role Overview
We are seeking an AI Product Development Manager to lead and oversee the development of our AI-based educational tools. In this role, you will guide product strategy, manage feature development, and coordinate between teams to ensure product success. As an AI Product Development Manager, you’ll play a central role in aligning development with Reality AI Lab's mission to empower global education through open-source innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Strategy and Roadmap: Define and drive the product vision and roadmap for AI features, ensuring alignment with Reality AI Lab's goals and user needs.
- Feature Development Management: Oversee the design and development of AI features, from ideation to deployment, in collaboration with engineering, design, and maintenance teams.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Act as the central communication point between development teams, core maintainers, and stakeholders to ensure cohesive and efficient workflows.
- User-Centered Focus: Incorporate feedback from educators, students, and the broader open-source community to refine and enhance the AI product experience.
- Performance Monitoring and Improvement: Track feature performance and lead iterations to improve accuracy, user experience, and alignment with educational outcomes.
- Documentation and Process Optimization: Establish and maintain clear processes for development, testing, and release, while contributing to robust project documentation.
Requirements
- AI Product Development Experience: Background in managing AI or software product development, with experience overseeing the end-to-end feature lifecycle.
- Technical Understanding of AI: Familiarity with generative AI, machine learning, and relevant frameworks (e.g., Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch) to effectively lead development discussions.
- Project Management Skills: Proficiency in agile methodologies, roadmap planning, and resource allocation in an open-source or remote team environment.
- Community Engagement: Experience in working with and supporting open-source communities, including knowledge of version control and collaborative platforms (e.g., GitHub).
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication to manage cross-functional interactions, product updates, and community outreach.
- Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Ability to handle complex issues and make data-driven decisions to improve product performance.

- Commitment: Part-time, unpaid open-source contribution role with flexible scheduling.
- Duration: 1-6 months, remote work setup.
