Role Overview

We are seeking an AI Education Privacy and Compliance Manager to oversee data privacy, user protection, and regulatory compliance for Marvel AI. This role involves developing and implementing privacy practices, ensuring compliance with educational data regulations (e.g., FERPA, GDPR), and protecting user information, particularly for students and educators. This position is ideal for someone with experience in data privacy, compliance, or ethical AI practices, who is passionate about creating a safe and trustworthy AI experience for users in educational settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Privacy Management: Develop and enforce data privacy protocols to protect sensitive information, including personal and educational data, following industry standards and best practices.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure Marvel AI complies with educational data privacy laws, including FERPA, GDPR, COPPA, and other relevant regulations, and stay updated on changes to these regulations.
• User Consent and Transparency: Create policies that clearly inform users (students, teachers, institutions) about how their data is collected, stored, and used, ensuring transparency and obtaining necessary consents.
• Risk Assessment and Incident Management: Conduct regular assessments to identify potential privacy risks and create incident response plans for managing data breaches or privacy issues.
• Collaboration with Developers and Educators: Work closely with developers to implement privacy-by-design features in Marvel AI and coordinate with educators to address their privacy concerns and maintain trust.
• Ethics and Responsible Use of AI: Establish ethical guidelines for data handling, ensuring Marvel AI operates responsibly and inclusively, especially when dealing with sensitive student data.

Requirements

• Experience in Data Privacy or Compliance: Background in data privacy, regulatory compliance, or legal advisory, ideally with experience in educational technology or AI applications.
• Strong Understanding of Privacy Regulations: Knowledge of privacy laws such as FERPA, GDPR, and COPPA, with the ability to implement compliance measures within an educational framework.
• Analytical and Risk Management Skills: Proficient in identifying privacy risks, conducting impact assessments, and developing incident response strategies.
• Communication and Documentation Skills: Ability to create clear, user-friendly privacy policies and provide transparency about data usage and user protection measures.
• Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Skilled in working with cross-functional teams, including developers, educators, and legal advisors, to promote data privacy best practices.
• Commitment to Ethical Standards: Dedication to promoting ethical, secure, and responsible data practices, especially in environments involving minors and educational data.
