Role Overview
We are seeking a Community Engagement Manager to foster a welcoming, collaborative, and active community around Reality AI Lab's open-source projects. In this role, you will be responsible for building meaningful connections with contributors, supporting their journey within the community, and creating an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for open-source communities, who enjoys building relationships, facilitating engagement, and driving inclusive growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Community Building and Support: Actively engage with community members, providing support, answering questions, and ensuring a positive experience for all contributors.
- Onboarding and Retention: Design and manage onboarding processes to help new contributors integrate seamlessly and feel welcomed, while also implementing initiatives to recognize and retain existing contributors.
- Outreach and Communication: Serve as the communication bridge between Reality AI Lab and the community by sharing updates, responding to feedback, and fostering transparency across channels.
- Event Planning and Facilitation: Organize community events, including webinars, Q&A sessions, and virtual meetups, to promote knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Contributor Recognition and Appreciation: Develop and implement recognition programs to celebrate contributor achievements, boost morale, and encourage continued involvement.
- Feedback Collection and Project Improvement: Gather community feedback to identify improvement areas and relay valuable insights to project leaders for consideration.
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Initiatives: Champion diversity and inclusion by promoting fair and equal opportunities for all contributors and addressing conflicts in a respectful, solution-oriented manner.
Requirements
- Experience in Community Management or Engagement: Background in community engagement, people operations, or a related role, ideally within an open-source or volunteer-driven environment.
- Strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities with a focus on empathy, listening, and fostering positive interactions.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to plan and manage multiple community events, initiatives, and communication channels effectively.
- Problem-Solving and Conflict Resolution: Skilled at resolving conflicts constructively, ensuring a welcoming and respectful community atmosphere.
- Understanding of Open-Source Culture: Familiarity with open-source principles and values, with a commitment to supporting a collaborative and transparent community.
- Passion for Community Building and Diversity: A strong commitment to inclusivity and community-driven growth within open-source projects.
Additional Information
- Commitment: Part-time, unpaid open-source contribution role with flexible scheduling.
- Duration: 1-6 months, remote work setup.
