Role Overview
We are seeking an AI Project Manager to coordinate and oversee AI projects within our open-source environment. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, tracking, and ensuring the successful execution of our AI-driven initiatives, while fostering collaboration across teams and the open-source community. This intermediate-level role is ideal for someone with experience in project management within AI or software development, who is excited to make an impact in education technology through open-source contributions.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning and Execution: Define project scope and objectives, develop detailed timelines, and oversee execution to ensure on-time and high-quality delivery of AI projects.
- Team Coordination: Lead cross-functional collaboration among developers, AI engineers, designers, and contributors, fostering an efficient and cohesive workflow.
- Community Engagement: Engage with open-source contributors, facilitating contributions and addressing inquiries to ensure smooth participation within the project.
- Stakeholder Communication: Regularly communicate project updates, milestones, and risks to internal stakeholders and the broader community, ensuring transparency.
- Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies, proactively addressing issues to keep the project on track.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all AI features and products meet quality standards, align with Reality AI Lab's mission, and are effectively documented for community use.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Project Management Experience: Intermediate-level experience in managing AI or software development projects, with a strong grasp of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, JIRA, Asana).
- AI and Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with AI technologies, especially generative AI, with the ability to understand project requirements and facilitate technical discussions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to engage with diverse, remote teams and the open-source community.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong organizational abilities to handle multiple tasks, manage timelines, and proactively address project challenges.
- Community-Centric Approach: Experience working with or contributing to open-source projects, with an understanding of the collaborative nature of open-source development.
Additional Information
- Commitment: Part-time, unpaid open-source contribution role with flexible scheduling.
- Duration: 1-6 months, remote work setup.

Monitor and optimize the performance and reliability of Generative AI models, ensuring stable and consistent functionality for users.

Ensure the ethical, safe, and compliant use of Generative AI models, focusing on mitigating risks and fostering responsible AI practices.
