Role Overview

We are seeking a Squad Software Developer Maintainer to oversee the development and maintenance of specific feature sets within our open-source AI projects, such as Marvel AI and Sky AI. In this role, you will guide the design, development, and integration of targeted features, working closely with other maintainers and contributors. This position is ideal for software developers who enjoy focusing on impactful, detailed work and contributing to innovative open-source solutions in education.

Key Responsibilities

• Feature Development and Maintenance: Lead the development of specific features within Marvel AI and Sky AI, ensuring high-quality and seamless integration with the overall project.
• Code Review and Quality Assurance: Review contributions related to your assigned feature set, ensuring alignment with project standards and functionality requirements.
• Issue Triage and Feature Requests: Manage and prioritize feature-specific issues, bug fixes, and new feature requests to maintain a stable and functional experience.
• Documentation and Best Practices: Create and maintain documentation specific to the feature, including usage guides, technical specifications, and contribution guidelines.
• Community Collaboration: Work with contributors, providing guidance and feedback on feature-specific contributions and promoting an inclusive environment.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with product designers, core maintainers, and other squad maintainers to ensure alignment and consistency across the project.

Requirements

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python and JavaScript with hands-on experience in full-stack or feature-focused development.
• Open Source Experience: Familiarity with open-source workflows, particularly in managing and contributing to feature-specific components.
• Problem-Solving and Detail-Oriented: Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on detail and quality within assigned feature areas.
• Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively within the project community and provide clear, constructive feedback to contributors.
• Time Management: Efficiently handle multiple tasks, manage feature-related responsibilities, and support a remote, flexible work environment.
