Role Overview
We are seeking a Squad Generative AI Maintainer to manage and support the maintenance of specific generative AI features within our open-source projects, such as Marvel AI and Sky AI. As a Squad Generative AI Maintainer, your role will focus on ensuring the reliability and performance of targeted AI features, handling feature-specific issues, and supporting contributors who work on these components. This position is ideal for AI engineers passionate about focused, feature-level maintenance and the practical impact of AI in education.
Key Responsibilities
- Feature-Level Model Monitoring: Oversee the performance of designated generative AI features, ensuring stability, responsiveness, and alignment with project goals.
- Targeted Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve feature-specific issues, from data inconsistencies to model output quality, to keep the designated AI feature reliable and accurate.
- Code Review and Quality Control: Review code contributions related to your assigned features, ensuring alignment with project standards and maintaining the quality of generative AI implementations.
- Documentation and Feature Guidelines: Maintain documentation specific to the assigned feature, covering maintenance routines, troubleshooting steps, and usage guidelines.
- Contributor Support: Provide guidance to contributors working on the same AI feature, fostering a supportive environment and ensuring contributions align with the feature’s goals and standards.
- Cross-Feature Collaboration: Work alongside other squad maintainers and core maintainers to ensure cohesion across project features and integrations.
Requirements
- Technical Expertise: Background in Generative AI with hands-on experience in LLMs, RAG, and/or multimodal AI, particularly focused on maintaining and troubleshooting specific feature implementations.
- Maintenance Experience: Experience managing and optimizing feature-specific models, with a focus on accuracy, stability, and resolving feature-specific issues.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, especially in diagnosing and addressing issues unique to generative AI features.
- Open Source Collaboration: Familiarity with open-source workflows and version control, with an ability to guide and support contributors in collaborative development.
- Communication and Teamwork Skills: Clear, constructive communication skills to provide feedback to contributors and collaborate with other maintainers.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize feature-specific maintenance tasks efficiently within a flexible, remote work environment.
