Role Overview

We are seeking a Core Software Developer Maintainer to guide and maintain the core functionalities of our open-source AI projects, including Marvel AI and Sky AI. In this role, you will lead the technical evolution of the project’s core components, manage contributions, and ensure high standards in code quality and functionality. This position is ideal for software developers passionate about open-source contribution and maintaining impactful, community-driven projects in the education sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Roadmap and Development: Define, plan, and communicate the technical roadmap for core features and functionality.
• Codebase Management: Oversee core code development, review pull requests, ensure code quality, and uphold project standards.
• Issue Triage and Problem Solving: Monitor, categorize, and prioritize issues and feature requests to maintain a stable codebase.
• Documentation and Best Practices: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation, including contribution guidelines, coding standards, and technical manuals.
• Community Mentorship and Support: Provide guidance to contributors on core project standards, foster a collaborative environment, and onboard new developers.
• Collaboration and Feedback: Actively collaborate with product designers, AI engineers, and other team members to align technical work with project goals.

Requirements

• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Python and JavaScript with strong understanding of full-stack development and relevant frameworks.
• Open Source Experience: Prior experience in open-source development, with a solid grasp of Git-based workflows and best practices.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex issues within the codebase and resolve them effectively.
• Communication and Leadership: Strong written and verbal communication skills to engage with a global community and guide contributors effectively.
• Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and provide timely feedback in a flexible, remote environment.
